We often talk about our core Vanti Values, and we do our very best to live by these every day. When we chose our Values, it was obvious to us that we needed to include Care because being considerate and compassionate is so integral to the way we operate as a team and as individuals.
It’s this empathy that drives us to seek out opportunities to provide help where we can and support causes and initiatives we believe in. When we learned that the UK division of GAiN (the Global Aid Network) were looking for corporate partners to help them deliver their incredibly valuable service, we didn’t hesitate to get involved.
GAiN is an international relief and development organisation that offers aid and support to the poor and suffering. Since they were founded in 1998, GAiN has expanded to 11 global offices capable of responding to humanitarian needs in more than 50 countries. The UK office is currently focusing on providing aid to Iraq and Syria, as well as sending resources to Greece, Haiti, and Romania.
We wanted to support GAiN in their mission to help people in any way we could; fortunately, our problem-solving skills and experience overcoming logistical challenges came in handy! Vanti were able to arrange the transportation of 160 boxes of winter clothes from a youth event in Norfolk to GAiN UK’s Birmingham warehouse, from where they could dispatch the supplies to those who needed them most. We’ve continued to work with GAiN, arranging transportation and collection of boxes from local supermarkets.
GAiN UK is currently running a campaign to support the people of Mosul in Iraq, many of whom have been left homeless following a tumultuous few years which saw the city captured by IS before Iraqi Government and allied forces managed to retake control. The fighting left Mosul wartorn and its citizens in desperate need of help, so GAiN are aiming to send 1,000 blankets and other essentials to get the city’s displaced population through the sub-zero winter months. If you can help, GAiN are welcoming donations of the following items:
- Thick socks
- Baby blankets and clothes
If you’d like to make a donation, please send items to the following address by 10th November 2017, or call 0121 765 4404 to arrange a collection:
GAiN UK c/o Agapé, 167 Newhall Street, Birmingham, B3 1SW.
Why not get your friends involved and see how much you can collect together?
